Grade 5 Titanium (Ti6Al4V / Ti-6Al-4V)

Grade 5 titanium, also known as Ti6Al4V, Ti-6Al-4V, or Ti 6-4, is a titanium alloy strengthened by the addition of aluminum and vanadium. Its strength is more than double that of Grade 2 titanium. It can achieve a high-gloss mirror polish, making it the preferred choice for high-end titanium cases. The drawbacks are its higher machining difficulty and cost compared to Grade 2 titanium. Its chemical composition includes 6% aluminum, 4% vanadium, with maximum contents of 0.25% iron and 0.2% oxygen.

Grade 2 Titanium (Grade 2 / TA2)

Grade 2 titanium is a high-purity commercially pure titanium. It contains no aluminum or vanadium alloying elements, only trace impurities such as iron and oxygen (oxygen ≤ 0.25%, iron ≤ 0.3%). It is essentially a pure titanium material. Its core advantages are excellent skin-friendliness (biocompatibility, hypoallergenic properties) and superior cold workability. It is compatible with various surface finishes like brushed, sandblasted, and matte. It is approximately 40% lighter than stainless steel cases, making it a mainstream choice for entry-level titanium cases. Its disadvantages are lower strength and hardness compared to Grade 5 titanium, and it cannot undergo high-difficulty mirror polishing processes.
